How to Lose Weight Fast - Quick Ways to Lose Weight

If you were buying a new dress you would [hopefully] ask yourself some questions before making the purchase. Will I keep wearing the dress or discard it after wearing once [will that gimmicky diet be tossed aside]? Does the dress suit me [no use going on a cabbage diet if you hate cabbage]? I could go on... but the bottom line is... your diet must be nutritious and satisfying if it is going to suit you in the long term.

The food you eat, the liquid you drink, and the exercise you do, are three key ingredients to a healthy weight. By healthy weight, I mean a realistic weight based on your body shape and size. In fact, I would go as far as to suggest that you don't weigh yourself very often, as I have found that it can cause anxiety to be ruled by the weighing scales.

Once you embark on a healthy lifestyle - which is for life enhancement - you can expect to feel good about yourself, and you will feel the effects of your change of lifestyle. The scales will fade into the past.
Start by looking at what you eat at the moment. It might be a help to you to write it all down.
Do you eat a lot of refined foods that contain a lot of salt and/or sugar? Be a label junkie. Start looking at food labels and see what you are eating. You could be in for a surprise at how much sugar and salt are in everyday foods. Medical guidelines suggest a very low consumption of sugar and salt. Find healthier alternatives that have less salt and sugar

Vegetables add very few calories. They fill you up quickly and easily and they really are the dieter's friend. Vegetables add a lot of volume to your diet. They are digested very slowly and contribute to the feeling of fullness. Eat more vegetables instead of a sweet pudding.

Are you drinking the recommended 8 glasses of water a day? It must be pure water, not fruity, sugary, or soda beverages. Water is cleansing to your whole body and is also a natural appetite suppressant. Drinking a glass of water 30 minutes before your meal helps to give you that full feeling sooner. It will help you to eat less and will help you to feel you have had a satisfying amount of food.

When you decide on a better eating plan for How To Lose Weight Fast, also consider when you will eat. Three to five regular meals a day are essential. Remember to adjust the amounts if you are having five meals instead of two. Do not eat between meals. Always have a good breakfast so that you start the day with energy and avoid eating at least two hours before bedtime. While you sleep, you are inactive, and your metabolism slows down. Eating earlier, when you are active, can burn more calories. Have a food plan.

How to lose weight fast includes exercise. Exercise is a very good way to keep fit and lose weight. Losing weight quickly will require quite a lot of exercise. If you do not exercise regularly at present, you do not have to start with hours of working out at the gym. Start gently with short sessions. This could be as simple as parking further away from your work or the shops so you have a longer walk, or doing a few laps around the office at lunch time. Some people have even come up with clever exercises that can be done at a desk and will not be intrusive to others. Fit suitable exercise into your daily routine.

Lose Those Extra Pounds With a Fast Weight Loss Diet

A fast weight loss diet does not only require significant changes to your eating habits, but also your lifestyle. Just eating the right foods is not going to make you look lean and pretty. The right exercises and workouts are also vital if you want to lose weight fast.

Daily strategies to lose weight
A healthy diet can make notable improvements to your health and fitness levels. The real success of your diet plan will be determined by the integrity with which you follow it. The most important part of any weight loss plan involves physical activity. It is critical to be active if you want to achieve fast weight loss. Regular exercises make your mind feel fresh and also help in burning more fats and calories. They also facilitate healthy eating habits.

Your hunger and metabolism is hugely impacted by sleep. Health experts have always emphasized on the need for a good night's sleep, and with good reason. Many hormones in your body are disrupted by poor sleep, and this leads to slower metabolism and abnormal cravings. An effective support system is also vital for your weight loss plan to be successful. If you're surrounded by people who consume junk food, there's a good chance you'll indulge in it yourself. Find the right support system so that your eating habits remain healthy, as this will help your cause tremendously.

Simple tips to shed quick weight
The simplest advice most experts give to people seeking help in losing weight is to up their metabolism every day. Quick weight loss is a much simpler process when your metabolism jump-starts every morning. A cup of green tea may do the trick, and regular metabolism at a good rate will give you the best possible results in a very short time.

Sodium is one of the compounds that you must try to avoid. The human body retains the extra water that we consume, stores it and adds to our body weight. Sodium is the main reason for this. Reducing your intake of sodium will make your body lose the extra water at regular intervals of time, making you appear lean and fat-free. Carbohydrates are also negative when you are under a weight loss regime. Carbohydrates are rich in calories. Calories when stored in the body turn into fat and increase your weight. You can lose weight fast by keeping your Carbohydrate-intake in check. When you consume a lot of carbohydrates, make sure you eat nuts, seeds and whole grains as they make up or the unhealthy eating habits.

Although a lot of people say that you must avoid snacking often, health experts say that proper snacking can have a great effect on weight loss. Your metabolism will be revved up if you consume healthy snacks. This means that a good amount of fat and calories will be burnt during the course of the day. Snacks that are rich in healthy fats and proteins must be considered when you're hungry.

Holiday Dieting? Forgetaboutit! By Pete A Turner

Hey it's the Holidays, Christmas, Chanukkah and New Years. It's a time of parties, cookies, rich desserts and all those comfort holiday meals.

Enjoying the holidays and don't worry about your diet. If you are like me your will power breaks down when you smell those holiday cookies or that pumpkin pie. I was doing okay and then my daughter dropped off some Christmas cookies and I ate four cookies before my brain finally kicked in and said STOP!! Do I feel guilty? Yes a little. Do I want another cookie? No, my sweet tooth seems satisfied at least for the time being.
There are some lessons here:

1. Enjoy the Season: Sure those four cookies were a little too much, but I got that out of my system and hopefully I won't be tempted again.

2. I balanced out the cookies by sticking to my normal diet and foods the rest of the day.

3. The sugar buzz I got after eating plus the sluggish feeling after the buzz made me appreciate the way I feel when I eat right.

4. Our bodies do need a break or rest and the holidays can help our bodies rebuild and restore as long as we don't over do the partying.

5. If you are like me, the holidays give me an even bigger reason to hit the gym and stick to my diet. It really affirms that the lifestyle I have chosen is right for me.

I believe the last statement about the right lifestyle is very important. At sixty-six years old I know more than ever that it is not about dieting or exercising. It is about lifestyle. Because I have chosen a healthy lifestyle and I am mindful of the food I eat and stay physically active I can enjoy a sugary treat now and then. Plus the deeper I go into this lifestyle the less I want those treats.

Here are a few tips that help me get pass the tempting holiday treats and let me enjoy the season.

1. Stick to your exercise routine. If you are traveling and staying with friends and or family bring your workout clothes. Take a run or a walk.

2. If you belong to a nationwide chain like Gold's Gym, find one close to where you are staying.

3. Staying at a hotel? Most have some exercise equipment available.

4. Pack exercise bands. I love these bands - they are light weight.

5. Eat light and save those calories for the party.

6. Have a protein snack before going to the party.

There are many ways to stay fit and still have a fun time. So enjoy the holidays, share the joy of the season with family and friends. Come January you will be ready to reach new heights of wellness!

10 Easy Tips to Help You Lose Weight This Week

With so much nutrition and diet information roaming through the media, it can be difficult to differentiate what is real and what is glitzy media hype. As a personal trainer, nutrition consultant and fitness competitor, I have had to sift through my fare share of fitness magazines, nutritional seminars and college courses. I have condensed and refined the mountain of information into a manageable top ten list. The following is a list of the 10 most successful methods of losing 5 pounds in one week without a dramatic lifestyle change:

Tip 1: Stop counting calories
This may make anyone who has ever dieted laugh in disbelief. Remember when reduced fat and no fat foods were the focus in the diet industry? Do you also remember that reduced fat foods sold like crazy while the obesity epidemic spread like wildfire? New research shows that calorie counting, like reduced fat foods, is not the end-all solution to losing weight. Scientists suggest that what you eat may be just as important as how much. Foods that are rich in nutrients and low in carbohydrates and sugar are key for effective weight loss. Try replacing tortillas with lettuce leafs and potatoes with a green vegetable for starters.

Tip 2: Drink more water
Yes, you've heard that drinking 8-10 glasses of water per day is crucial for your health. Drinking water can also help you lose weight. Drinking water before a meal takes up space in your stomach, making you feel full sooner. Simply drinking one glass of water before your meal could help you cut up to 100 calories or more per meal.

Tip 3: Eat more meals
That's right, another suggestion against what has become industry standard. I'm not suggesting eating more food, I'm suggesting more meals. Breakfast, lunch and dinner with a snack between breakfast and lunch and again between lunch and dinner. Planning your meals and snacks can help you reduce those impulse high-carb snacks that can slow any diet progress. The key is to accelerate your metabolism and replace sugary and high-carb foods with nutrient rich meals and snacks to stave off hunger cravings.

Tip 4: Include protein
Jeff Hample, Ph.D., R.D., a spokesman for the American Dietetic Association says that, "Protein is made up mainly of amino acids, which are harder for your body to breakdown, so you burn more calories getting rid of them." In addition to burning more calories, amino acids help aid in recovery from cuts to muscle damage. Protein contains the building blocks for our body and is typically low in fat and calories.

Tip 5: Get some rest
Research shows that people who get adequate sleep lose weight easier and quicker. Lack of sleep can cause hormonal imbalances causing weight gain. People with inadequate sleep tend to snack more and have irregular eating and exercise habits. Recommended sleep for adults is between 6-8 hours.
Tip 6: Track your progress
Monitoring your weight loss can help you stay motivated and keep to your diet. Track where the weight is coming off with a fat caliper or weigh yourself regularly. Even blogging or posting your progress on your Facebook will help you stay committed because you know people will be counting you. This way family and friends can provide supportive comments when you do well.

Tip 7: Cook your food
Cooking what you eat makes you mindful of what you are putting in your body. The act of cooking itself burns calories. Cooking your food and healthy eating begins with learning about nutrition, which will make future diet choices easier.

Tip 8: No more soda
Did you know that just one 12oz can of coke has 39 grams of sugar! That can alone is enough to stall any diet. Sodas and many of the most common drinks available at a gas station or grocery store are loaded with hard to digest, diet-killing sugar. Try to incorporate green tea (excellent for added weight loss benefits) or calorie-free flavored water drinks into your diet if you need to satiate your sweet tooth.

Tip 9: Eat healthy fats
Now you're probably wondering, who is this guy? First don't count calories, then eat more food and now I want you to eat fats? Before you grab the bacon, I am referring to the healthy fats. That's not a typo, there are such a thing as healthy fats. Denying your body of healthy fats can disrupt your hormone levels and increase your hunger cravings. Healthy fats are found in foods like nuts, eggs, seeds or avocados. Try eating these foods for the between meal snacks mentioned in tip 3.

Tip 10: Don't eat foods from a can or box
Most of the foods that are processed and preserved tend be high is sugar, sodium and carbohydrates. By eating whole, fresh foods from the grocery store you can cut away huge amounts of excess calories and sugars. You may even find that fresh food really does taste better.
Eating healthy shouldn't feel like a chore. You don't need to make a dramatic lifestyle change to see results. Simply following these 10 tips for losing weight this week can help put you on the track for long-term success. 5 Ways to Lose Weight Naturally

You badly want the dress that you saw in your favorite shop, but it is too small for you. The best way out of this problem is weight loss. I have good news for you. It is not as difficult as you think. You can slim down quickly with the right kind of program.

They say there is no gain without pain, so you must make a few sacrifices to achieve the right weight. If you want to lose weight, you must be ready to change your lifestyle - you should start to eat healthy and exercise. Here are some of the methods which you can use to lose weight naturally.

1. Regular eating - There is a misconception that skipping meals will lead to weight loss. This actually leads your body to build up fat, as the body needs energy to function effectively. When you skip meals, you starve yourself and the next time you will eat, your body will store the fat, so that it will be able to utilize it when you will starve yourself again. Skipping meals slows down the metabolism of the body thus causes the building up of the extra fats.

2. Regular exercise - The body needs a bit of physical activity to burn up the fats that may have accumulated over the time. You can go to the gym to exercise and burn calories. If you are too busy and can't devote some time to visit the gym, you can ditch your car occasionally. Walk two blocks to your office or to the supermarket, instead of taking the car. This will help you to move a little more. Moreover, you will save a few bucks on gas as well. You can also decide to use the stairs in your office instead of always taking the elevator. Your body will surely appreciate this treatment.

3. Sleep - Your body needs a little time to recuperate and this will not happen when you bury your head in office work at the middle of the night or stay up late partying. Give your body approximately 8 hours to recover from the stress suffered during the day.

4. Eat healthy - Eat foods that are low in calories. This is one of the most effective ways to lose weight naturally. Foods such as fruits and vegetables are low in calories and they will help you in fighting against diseases and infections, so you will become healthier. If you are on a mission to lose weight you have to avoid taking junk food as it will add excess pounds to your body.

5. Eat smaller portions - You might take in the right types of food, but still do it wrong. For successful weight loss you must also reduce the amount of food that you take in. To eat smaller portions you can use a smaller plate. This will help you to reduce your total calorie intake and make weight loss easier and quicker.

In conclusion, discipline is the key to successful weight loss. When you make the decision to change your lifestyle, you must discipline yourself to follow the new rules strictly. That way, you will not have problems with your weight ever again.
